I was looking into buying the ARB air locker, or OX lockers for my rig. Does anyone know what DANA my FJ70 has (front and back) so i can source the parts from the US or somewhere else and import them? If this is uncommon information and i would need to verify what measurments my diffs have, and someone would like to instruct me on what im looking for it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for any help!

I know that Henry C's FJ62 came with a Dana 60 axle from the factory. Yours may be the same way as his, he purchased his in Venezuela. That said, please take a photograph of the axles you have from the front and the rear and either post them or email them to wngrog@aol.com and I will post them for you.

Hmm....the front is a DANA also? We'll have to wait for some of the Venezuelan mudders with more 70 series experience to chime in, my '88 FJ70 and '91 FJ62 both had DANA 60 semi-floaters with the offset pumpkin common in Venezuela, but both rigs has front Toyota axles. They might have gone to front DANAs later in production, but I'm not sure.

I think your vehicle is a Japanesse landcruiser so it should have toyota axle.

Hello,

You should check where your Cruiser was built. Take a look at the manufacturer's plate.

If it was built in either Colombia or Venezuela, it has a Dana 60 axle. Quite probably it is semifloating. Service manuals are available online.

Hope this helps.

Take a picture of the rear axle and of the plate that shows the engine and axles model number, so we can tell you for sure.

dana axles

It is likely dana 60 semi floater, feel free to email pics as we stock parts for them.

Thanks for the help... The reason for my asking is i want to get ARB air lockers... and by sourcing them locally they are mad expensive.

Just FYI, all 70 series LC made in Venezuela have a Toyota front axle, only the rear is a Dana 60 semi floater.

I'm almost 100% sure that is a jap axle, it's definately not a Dana 60, I believe 70 series use a 9.5 Toyota axle, lets wait to see what the experts say.

every dana axle I have seen has had pressed in axle tubes. Where as toyota axles are a welded metal assembly. I have a dana 60 in the front of my dodge, and it dosent look like that.

does toyota really use dana axles?

cheers

The plate says my axle number is Axle: K052, what ever that means!

K= 9.5 inch ring gear
05= 3.70 ratio
2= open diff with 2 spider gears

Most 70 have 4.11
Both my cruisers are KO85 which is 4.11 and LSD

My rig is definitely built in japan, so im guessing i was wrong on the DANA. So im looking for 9.5 inch ring gear?

any suggestions on where to get the best deal on lockers?

Yes that is the Toyota 9.5" semi floater. RD124
