Hello - I have an intermittent issue that everyone once in a while my FJ60 will not start. No crank - just dead & no dash lights. I replaced the battery as well as replaced the connections from the battery to the starter motor. The starter motor and alternator were checked by my mechanic and I was told both were in working order.

When this issue happened I discovered I was able to jump the car and I was off and running. However, the issue happened other other day at Costco and my jumper trick didn’t work. Decided to finish my shopping (30 minutes) and then tried the battery jump again and it worked. I did notice the fan was not running when I tried the second time so IDK if that matters. In the past, when I did restart the truck with the jumper cable I believe the fan was running but I can’t confirm.

FWIW - truck has 72K miles. Any ideas or suggestions?

Clean truck - Wire brush everything and see if that helps?

Clean the battery terminals, clean the cable lugs at the battery, clean the ground connections, check your fusible link. Do the simple stuff first.
Per the post, most of this was already done but I’ll check the fusible link. Thanks…

Finally getting around to trying to address the no crank issue and noticed some of the dashboard lights (vents & misc center gauges) are not working properly. Most of the time they are not working but sometimes they are flickering. Could this possibly be the cause of my crank issue?

I would go back to a ground issue. Make sure grounds are actually connected to metal, not corroded, and not loose. After that, I would check the alternator.

Will do - I was thinking the intermittent flickering was possibly due to an electrical ground issue which then caused the crank issue. Thanks.
