Did you tighten up/adjust the drag link ends?

No becasue we wanted to isolate just the tires and see what difference it made. That way he would know for sure if he was to go buy new tires which he is somewhat considering anyway.

Redchops: Now that the tires have been handled and sounds like your still getting wobble, we should go ahead and tighten up the ends like we talked about and see what happens then.

Even though less frequent, is the wobble still as harsh when it does happen?

It was this morning on the way to work

And she is getting new wheels and tires once taxes are in. Just have to decide on what kind of 33" s I'm gonna get now

Is Camelback Toyota offering the road force balancing with the cool print out?

Maybe it time to balance my tires so I to can have a cool print out.:hillbilly:

You bet your sweet bippy they do

It is not just the "cool print out" it is the difference it makes. I worked at Hunter Engineering for 12 years and the GSP9700 Balancer was one of the main things I worked on during the development stage. You can find out more at Hunter Engineering's website. ;)

First; make sure that you don't have a lateral balance or out of round problem with a tire. This is the #1 root cause of death wobble.

a h a :hhmm:

X2, remove the cotter pin, tighten the slotted cap until snug, rock steering, confirm that it's still snug, back off ~1/2 a turn and replace the cotter pin. If the adjuster is too deep for the cotter pin to go into the slot, remove the cap, put a penny, washer, spacer under it to take up the space. Commonly referred to as the penny trick/fix.

IIRC there was/is a repair kit available for that type of ends, included all of the wear parts and boot?

NAPA actually offers a Drag Link Rebuild kit for the FJ60. Its more expensive than we sell the complete end for, but they have it in stock and we are waiting on ours from Japan :(

...Well did it work?

Well so far so good. No DW but there is still a very very slight shimmy which. Could be to BFG tires

And for those that care to know with some help from skyehunter we adjusted the drag links with the driver side was perfectly snug the passenger side had nothing but slack in which it took 3 1/2 revolutions until it was tight and I'll be damned that DW went way thanks murf tools and Skye

So now on to tires got the wheels ordered just have to wait for them to show up now on to figuer out what tires I need

It really depends on what you want and can be had to a "good deal". Both tires that you are looking at are solid choices.

One of my big considerations is intended use. Tires are best when new, as they age, are more prone to problems, so buying tires to last ~4yrs max is good. This is dictated by use, a rig that sees DD use, a tire that has longer tread life is good, on a rig that sees less miles, a tire that has less tread life is good.

Did your last set of A/T's ever let you down for the trails that you run? If not and the rig is DD, the Terra Grappler is a solid choice, well proven, run smooth long term, etc. If you are looking for a more aggressive tire, the new MT/R is working well for some. Also early reports on the Trail Grappler are good. Any M/T is going to be somewhat less civilized and likely to have less life.

Reviving this... I'm in need of drag link ends as well and can't find any anywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any parts guys on here? I was also told it would be a good idea to go ahead and replace the tie rod ends as well while we're down there. Any suggestions on that?
