Any one running front 55 springs on their 40's? If yes, got any pictures? I happened to notice that 55 front springs are the same length as 40 springs, but have centered spring pins.
I never liked the look of flipped 40 springs and thought that centered springs would always provide a better ride. I have two complete sets of 55 springs and am thinking of doing the swap to gain some wheel base- using the front springs at both ends on the 40. I also understand all of the things that will follow, just wanted to see if it has been done and how the results worked out

I did a search and only found the use of 55 rear springs - on the rear of 40's mentioned.

Thanks,

It has been done on the front plenty of times. I have a set of 55 fronts that I am going to use in my spring over later this year.

I am running 55 fronts on the front of my SOA 40. I used the fronts for the same reason you mentioned, centered pin=longer wheel base. I only have a few hundred miles on it since the SOA but so far so good. I did use 55 rears on the back of the 40.

My front end is torn apart right now as I am installing an ARB. I will check to see if I have a side shot at home if not I will get one when it is back together.
