There's a strong chance that I will be stationed in the Sacramento, California area starting this summer. I am incredibly excited about that chance. I know that there are several guys on this particular forum that reside in that general area. I'm REALLY wanting an LV in let's say a 350 mile radius of that area. Land Cruisers seem to be in great shape in this area and I'm wanting one for camping purposes with my two sons when / if I get there.

Thanks for any heads up and help!!!! :steer:

Thats great news Daniel! You will go nuts when you see cruisers from this area. I am a couple hours from sac. Let me know if you need anything\help at this end. I will turn on my lv radar!!

Cheers,

Brian

Awesome Brian! Not official yet... But, my branch manager said it is likely. I've always wanted to go to California, at least to visit. To get to live there for two years would be awesome.

Yes, we all know that you're equipped with maybe the best 45 series radar system! :hillbilly:

Thanks JP. I'm checking email everyday to see if it's going to happen or not. If it does.... My wife already knows... Lol. :steer:

We'll, Uncle Sam says that California is a no-go. Like I stated in another post, I'm headed to Vilseck, Germany for the next three years.

I'm tossing around the idea of shipping my FJ40 over along with our family daily driver. Of course the government covers only one vehicle. But, I'm thinking that paying for mine to be shipped might be worth it.

I'll ask one more time on this forum if anyone would be willing to sell their LV. Or point me in the direction of someone that's not on this forum that might be receptive to selling.

Either way, I plan on taking a land cruiser across the pond. Thanks!

Personally I would have my DD shipped over with the idea it's a one way trip and locate something in Europe that we didn't get in the states then have Uncle Sam ship that one home instead. Get hold of Doctor do Little and see if he could help locate something. Not sure about troopies but I know diesels, mid wheel base and pickups are over there and LHD.

Haha, that's a good plan! Find an nice LV and take it here, then trade it with my hzj73 and take that one with you.

Btw there are a couple of nice (but pricey as always) hzj pickup and troopie diesels for sale right now on www.marktplaats.nl. Also some 80 and 100 diesels. Also look at http://www.rv4wd.nl/occasions-rv4wd/.

But of course no LV's here.

The bad thing about the 100 series diesels is the 25 year rule to import to the US will still be a limiting factor. All 80 series should be good to go in three years. I would personally rather have a diesel 70 series pickup or troopie than a 80 or 100 series diesel or not. While not diesels we have plenty of 80 and 100 series. I would want something the US didn't get period.

Take something over there that they love. What do we have here that they don't? Perhaps a jeep? Sorry for saying that 4 letter word but do a lot of jeeps get exported to Germany? I don't know. Worth checking into
