Great project Taha, I know another 1965 FJ45 LV, I spotted last year in Upper Hutt. I met the owners and its in mint condition. I have got some pictures of it as well. Will post them as soon as find them.

Thought they might be another one somewhere around. NZ

Lets keep in touch I am in Upper Hutt and dealing with an oddball FJ25 here. We can help each other. I might be able to help you with Hubcap reproduction. I am missing all of them.

Sounds good, I have a few cruisers. Will be up in Hawkes Bay for the summer with my fj45. Going up early November if u need any parts from down here.
I am after a early Pto box if you know of one around?

How early? I know only 2 types of PTO boxes, one mounts on the side of the transmission and another mounts on the side of the transfer box. 1st one even I am looking for and many in USA as well. I know a guy here who has got few of 2nd type sitting around his workshop and prefers to sell them as a set (along with winch) but I will ask him. Email me more details on archie_new@yahoo.com.

Very nice, Archie.

Not being from NZ, could you explain the netting in front of the windshield glass.

Is that a common feature down there, or a foldable home-made creation to control the bug splatter?

Ha Ha, I don't think its a original feature but then again I am no expert on FJ45LV's or on any cruisers for that matter and still learning the ropes. I guess someone will chime in soon to explain. I remember noting down owners number somewhere. He is a local and if I see him again I will ask him about it. I spotted this LV only once in last 6 years I have been living here. Go Figure.

Well, either his neighbors hate him and throw rocks at his car, or you guys grow your bugs big enough to need protection when driving !

It's to stop stones from shattering windscreens before the laminated shatterproof type arrived. Old school protection still seen on interstate trucks today.

The FJ45V went for a ride today, out to a mates paddock for storage for the summer

Heading home to Hawkes Bay for the summer which means I get to drive my other FJ45, really looking forward to it :)

Any movement on this? I'm trying to found out what happened to some of the build threads in Australia & New Zealand in case anyone is looking to sell.

Resurrecting an old thread. Did you get it running and restored? Btw I’m searching for a great mechanic or transmission expert in nz. Any recommendation?
Edit I see your build thread
