Last year I obtained a rear center cab seal from a club member, @76 FJ40 . As you may be aware, this piece is no longer available from Toyota, even though the side pieces are still available. In any event, I used the piece I got as a template and made a reproduction of it. Just thought I check to see if anyone has their truck in a disassembled state such that you can quickly try out this reproduction piece for fit? Your vehicle must be '76 or later, as the earlier trucks have a 3 piece set with slightly different dimensions.
If it fits, it's yours to keep. Otherwise, I would like feedback on what needs to be modified. Here are some photos of what I've got:

Well, since I am probably the closest to you, it makes sense for me to grab it!

EDIT: My bad. 76 or newer. I am out. Mine is 65. Sorry.

why wouldn't it work for the older trucks ? Other than it has more holes in it for the bolts instead of the clamps holding the top down. Just asking for my own clarification/education.

This is something I learned recently after someone sent me a much older sample. Checking the EPC, there are two part numbers:
64833-90300 - 5/75 to 7/80
64833-90332 - 3/69 to 5/75

There are differences in length as well as as the number of holes. The newer style one is shorter (by 3mm), but it's matched with side pieces that are slightly longer. Here are some comparison photos of the repro based on the later seal, next to a sample of the older style seal. The last photo shows older style side pieces overlayed on top of the newer style side pieces. Notice how the older one is smaller.

@cityracer, I would be willing to to try it out. I have several older FJ45's and I think this should work for all years. It may not be a perfect match maybe but better than what's available now. My top is off on the 66 for all new window seals so this is good timing.

If someone else is already trying it I'll wait for that information.

So. One could use all the new stuff on an old cab? and all of this might be avail on your site in the future? Since i am not that far into my build I am asking a hypothetical question here for the future me to contemplate. and that was a HECK of an explanation with pictures to match. I do not see much of a difference that would matter to any of us if it worked on both new and old.

Whitey, that's what I was thinking. Thanks to Racer65 for doing these and all the other products.

So would you be offering all three? That is one piece of weatherstrip I do not think I have obtained yet. I do have the top to back panel if you want to borrow it. Not sure if it is still avail here.

Have a 77 here with the top off currently and willing to help if there is still a need.

Thanks for all the responses! This forum is alive.
Yes, I plan to offer all 3 pieces as a set. Ideally, I'd like to make both varieties. One set for the '75+ and another for the earlier years. It may be just a matter of trimming lengths and punching holes differently. I don't think it requires modifying the mould. Let me give it some more thought. I'll follow up with some of you by PM. Thanks again to all who offered to help.

Yeah us 45 nerds stick to our own sandbox. It's a smaller family in this subforum. Thank you for helping the cause. I personally don't think 2 different offerings are necessary just sell one kit that fits.

I can help. 1974 cab down undahhh. AFAIK they're all the same.

This is great news! I got new corner pieces last year (amazing were in stock in Portland ) but the orignal center section is toast.

this brings up a interesting question. I bought my 45 in 96 and bought the glass, weatherstripping for windows, seals for the top and bottom of the cap. Never paid any attention to what I got. Mine were still in good shape so stuck them in a box and stored it away. If the seals for the bottom would work on all years Toyota would have discontinued the earlier one. Need to see which one I got back in 96.
