Hi, I would think that the trash in that engine would destroy a new thermostat and water pump, probably clog up a new radiator too. Mike

Yeah. After thinking about it some more I've decided just to have it towed rather than Mickey Mouse anything and make matters worse..

Now that I know the engine is moving freely I will get it to its new home and go to town on the cooling system without any deadlines or people breathing down my neck. I've purchased the muriatic acid and have cleaned the old water pump so it's moving freely now. Also I've removed the thermostat entirely and will be running without it until I'm confident everything is clean enough and the engine is running fine. The next update will probably be getting this thing into my garage.

In the meantime...tool porn! Bought this thing yesterday at Sears for 500! :) I'm FINALLY going to be working out of a legit tool box rather than a bunch of tiny ones.

Yes i remember my 1st big boy tool box also!!! I was out of town working for 6 weeks and was telling my then GF i was gonna buy a huge one when i got home. Walked into the garage 1st morning back and a beastly one was sitting there with a bow on it! Needless to say she is my wife now lol.

Not yet. I ended up getting an fj62 that had a blown motor and that's been my project. This one is still on the list but I need a better place to work on it.

I know if I had the chance, I would buy it for that price IMMEDIATELY.
Yeah im thinking the same thing. Apparently my dad knew about it but it just slipped his mind to tell me that it's been sitting there for longer than I've been alive. I've been talking about land cruisers for the last 2 or 3 years & he just failed to mention it.

Looks to be an all original barn find. I would jump all over it. There are lots of posts here on Mud about things to do BEFORE you try to turn over the engine.

Yeah I saw just the small stuff in this thread, I'm definitely gonna do my homework before I tru to even trying to turn it over. Thanks.
It's easily worth that WITHOUT a motor! If you can get it running that's just bonus points!

Yeah I'm gonna pick it up, I just have to move 2 trucks & 2 rv's out of the way, all of which also don't run, of course 🤦🏻‍♂️
Awesome! Not to mention that paint will probably polish out quite nicely! Appears to be in great shape!!! Nice find!

Yeah it's not in bad shape st all, looks like its been covered from the sun for the last 40+ years. Look like it's a 67 or older. Has the F135 engineView attachment 3112999

That looks about right.

Step 1: Get copious amounts Kroil into those cylinders!!!

That's a cool find, but that's going to take A Lot of time, effort and $ to get running, even if you do all the work yourself. Good luck and start a build thread!
