Bought a 72 FJ40 and not sure what size springs are currently under it but want to replace them to improve the ride. Currently running 31" tires. Can the spring arch be measured to see how much lift is currently under it (if any at all)? Does any one have any info on what a stock arch should be vs a lifted arch or how to determine what size springs to purchase?

The stock springs are nearly flat, with about 2-3 inches of room between the bump stops and the axle. Don't expect any lift spring to make it ride any better. They usually make it ride rougher, but any time you drop more than $200 on it, you always think it is better.

post a pic and let the masses decide

sPRINGS

72 CRUISER w/33" TIRES! WHAT SIZE LIFT WOULD ACCOMODATE 33" TIRES 2.5" OR 4"sPRINGS

is he taking a photo of you taking a photo?

Or is he putting the final touches on the perfect snowball, or just trying to figure out his new mitts?

are you asking what size tires/lift are on these two trucks like you want your to look or ???? is one of these yours?

Looks like 4" springs to me.

Flip the bezel and you'll get more arc on the front springs!

Best laugh I've had today! Thanks racerdave!

I've got OME springs with 2.5" lift and run 33x10.50 with no modification to body panels. Contrary to what others have posted, the OME lift had a noticeable improvement in ride.
