Yes you can save some money by buying parts here and there. When I did mine 20 years ago I bought some of the parts from JT Outfitters. Finding the old gear box on ebay is a good source but if not rebuilt it may end up leaking. Better off to buy the deluxe kit and get the rebuilt gear box. You will be happier doing that. I didnt Know Georg with Valley Hybrids had them. He is a really great guy to work with. 650-576-2023. He is the best in the business.
