Don't need much steel, I used scrap I had in the garage. Cut off your old mounts, move them out, tack, and make two gussetts that will span to the frame. They are basically little triangles.

Don't have much in the way of scrap steel and have to buy in 5ft increments locally. Up side of that is I am going to have lots of odds and ends for future projects. I do plan on re-using old mounts. As part of the front shackle mount I plan on using some 3/4 inch thick stock and extending it forward through the bumper for a recovery shackle mount that goes direct to the frame.
