Wondering about the interchangeability of parts between like years of FJ40 and FJ45LV... I know that is kind of a broad question... maybe the better question is: what is different - outside of the obvious: rear tub, wheelbase (driveshafts) etc...

The front is basically the same back to the cowl. Unlike the 45 troopy or pu, the LV is wider than a 40 at the doors. Body wise not much from the dash back is the same. Instrument cluster and glove box are the same as are the switch gear and column and shifters. Under dash wiring appears to be very similar.
The axles are the same except for sway bar mounts on the rear as far as I know. Mine has a later model front. I would not be surprised if everything under the body was a SWB pickup. Fuel tanks are different. Glass is all different. Door hardware and mirrors are unique. I think wiper arms and blades are similar, but the motor and linkage is unique.
