hello, my vehicle toyota fj40 350 v8 and sm465, np205 .... front axle: gmdana60 and gm14 bolt rear. tires 42 "Bogger. would like to support you in this regard. axles how strong can make you think?, and I want to learn other suggestions. much thank you

i dont quite understand ur question youve been on my build thread wonderbread thread i also run d60 and 14b there a great combo are u looking to change or curios on what is stronger?

I fear for 42 "tires, axles been broken. dana60 and 14 b have not used previously. weak aspects do not know. currently tires 37". 42 "tires, I wanted to check inserting suggestions

The 14 bolt should be ok, the dana 60 might have some issues depending on how hard you wheel.
There are a ton of upgrades available for the Dana 60 though. I would say run the axles as is for now and if you have issues you can always upgrade down the line.

If you like to throttle hard and you have a healthy v8 you might have some issues.

I have the same set up but running 37's on my 40

Would the drivetrain and axels last with 42's???

It's all about the driver and driving style.

I have an 80 w/ lockers(daily driver) with 285's and have kept on with the big boys with 42's
and ....yes they look at me and ask me "are you sure you want to do this?":hillbilly:

Now the rumble of the V8 in my 40 makes a difference...
I have drivent it hard and my weak link is my driveshaft... that's something to consider and have a spare.

I have 39.5" Iroks with a lincoln locked front dana 60 and rear 14 bolt FF which is also lincoln locked. I did up-grade the front shafts to chromoly shafts 4340. I've twisted drive shafts like bread twisty ties before, but so far no problems to either axle. I was told not to get on it to bad when you turning. It's great and the 14 bolt, well is almost bomb proof. My build is "FJ40 4-link up front SOA in the rear". I am pleased and I will to go to 42" tires soon.

I run a spooled D60 with yukon 4340 chromoly 35 spline inner and outters with slugs, 14B ff welded up and dont have issues. I beat on my junk too. I have bound it bad a few times and to my surprise nothing cut loose. I have 39.5 heavy boggers now and will be going to 42" rockers when $ allows. I have two others i wheel with that run the same setup only they are on 42" tsl. We are all built up front. Myself and another on full hydro the other two ram assisted.

Quick question for you are those link kits for the Toyota axles? cause it look likes the truss is and your going to need to fab or order new trusses.

The great thing about building your own ride is, you get advice, both good and bad from others, you have the final word, and the things you do right, especially when people say it won't work or can't be done, and it does work, well that is one of the best feelings. I haven't had to experience the flipside yet, lol. Just take your time and think things through.
Good luck with everything you do, look forward to seeing your build.
