another option to widen the front would be to run the 40 series housing with ifs pickup wheel hubs.

Just learned about the IFS mod recently from vinsil, but I'd like more info about it if you don't mind me asking. How much do these hubs move the track outward? What affect does this have on brakes? Seems like something has to be different for the brakes if the wheel mounting point moves outward. Since the brake disc mounts on the wheel hub either the disc hub is deeper to match the disc up with the brake backing plate or the brake backing plate for the IFS hub sets out further to match with the disc.

Somebody please enlighten me.

I recently noticed the 3FE actually has a smaller displacement, HP & torque figures than a 2F, FYI :D Now, the 1FZ-FE has considerable figures over the 3FE. I'd go w/ a built 2F w/ an aftermarket fuel injetion setup :meh:

<EDIT>
I got the info from the SOR catalog, which gave figures at different RPM's, & was misleading. Checked out this & got the real info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_F_engine

3FE has smaller displacement, more horsepower (155 vs 125) and slightly less torque. If you look at the torque curve on a 3FE it is surprisingly flat.

Many have put the 3FE head on a 2F block. I want to do that.

I would make myself a 2FE but my block had a crack in it and had block seal ran through it which is why I think I've had trouble with it running hot for as long as I've owned it.

I got the FJ62 on a great deal because the tranny was shot and it didn't have a title. It only has 145k on it and the glove box was stuffed with service records from the local Toy dealership where I bought it.

I like the tractor motors and I like the thought of fuel injection so I'm gonna run with it.
