Hi I found this rare thing...

it is a mix from a fj40 and an fj25... the front fenders were remake, but the rest it is original?

:bang::bang::bang::bang:

It definately looks like a 25 tub and frame.

That has to be the crudest stamping on a data plate I have ever seen. Looks like that came from the 40 though. Frame number or pictures of the spring hangers and pics of the dash should tell the story.

What does it have for an engine and transmission?

You could sell that early stamped Land Cruiser for big bucks.

If that VIN tag matches the frame number, that is a later frame under that tub. My 63 FJ40 frame number starts out 16XXX.

I see that also, the vin number is very hi but the year very low....:confused:

i would be suprised if when you check the frame # it says something like 9-FJ25-61877L

could have been an overstocked fj25 that was retaged as an fj40? and bib put on ...some strange things get sent to the third worlds.

definatly fj25 in most every way...but...the bib

could have been a rebuild...and merged parts ...many different colors are on that rig

X2 on the VIN on the frame being different.

The early VINs had the engine number stamped around were the frame number is and just below would be the vehicle's VIN number. At least I think that how it is. All my FJ25 are from 1960 and I think the VINs are in the 20,000 to 22,000 range. Pretty sure they never number anywhere close 60,000. I think the VIN came from another vehicle. Not sure what's up with the model number FJ * 40LV TDP J62:confused: Seems like something from a much later year but would of all would of had a 2F not an F engine. It might have something to do being it was not imported to the US but South America:meh:

I think this is a early FJ25. Of my four FJ25 the two earlier ones have the same type of frame crossover piece on the front as this one while the two later ones have the FJ40 style. Beside the bib, three speed and diffferential it all so has later style seats sitting inside it. Not the first time a Land Cruiser has had parts installed off of other years. I started updating parts on 68 shortly after I bought it in 1974:cheers:

that was going to be my ?, hadn't ever seen a front crossmember like that.

That was my thought too except the VIN does read Made in Japan on the bottom right side.

I do remember seeing old ads of the Bandi that showed the round wheel well up to 1964 so who knows.:meh: we need more information and pictures

I can't see the pictures but maybe it is an early 60's soft top version? In '62 or ' 61 the 40 had a weird rounded door opening on the soft top Cruiser...can you post one more pic?

P.S. I had to disconnect from the work server....never mind about what I wrote above...but that is a cool looking Cruiser...is it yours?

when i first read your post i thought wee maybe....but...there are alot of things that say not bandi.

vin tag would have read Toyoda do Brasil

also the centervents on early bandis were non-opening.

the bumper is also different on early bandis.

and definatly never a land cruiser bezel :) or corrogated top :)

just a few.

We're a sad bunch, analyzing these pictures....................

I was going to jump at Bandi, mainly because the one picture from the rear quarter makes the kick ven look tall and skinny..........Anyhow, I think the Bandi was domestic to Brasil only.

Long springs and the front crossmember makes me say 25. The back crossmember bothers me, it's way to wide, unless they added on when they did those turn signals.

I'm really interested in the frame number, I don't think it's the mythical 25/40 hybrid though, only because it looks like an earlier frame.

Alonso, we need more pictures, under the hood and underneath! :D

Makes me think of those old cars in Cuba...a little of this, and a little of that...I don't think it is as special as your other find...hate to say it, but probably just a mutt.

whats mutt and front crossmember?

my english is poor

A mutt is a dog that is a mix of all types of dogs...sorta of like a cruiser that is a mix of many different models and years.

How much did you say they wanted for it? That bezel alone might be worth the asking price ;)
