I'm looking to get some new front seats for my 40series. I like to drive with the doors off so a bolster is necessary and I'm 6'2" 270 lbs. Likely get a matching passenger seat, but it could be a little smaller for the females of the world. I also drive with just a bikini top on the truck sometimes, so weather/sun resistant is a must.

What's new and hot these days and what should I be considering? I'm cool with fixed back seats, but adjustable rails are a must. May as well get suspension seats too. Prob do a proper harness option as well. I'm going to add a real roll cage in there at some point soon too.

Any helpful suggestions appreciated.

Rally

The rally looks like a potential

I thought of these, but realized that they are a real bucket seat and very tall lower bolsters are a pain when getting out of a truck. Mine are fairly tall and I have a tendency to slide when I get out of the truck and it finally broke one side. I am looking at the scat procar elite 1100 here. They are the same Curt has in his 60, Blue has in his Taco and Vince has in his *eep. BTW, @Skrewball 's rig sits out uncovered for extended periods and he was impressed with how they held up to the elements. They have good bolster without being too big and are large enough to fit our larger frames.

Definitely try to put your butt in one before you buy and pay attention to what Stump says about high bolsters. They are a pain to get in and out of. Height of the steering wheel is also a factor because seats with medium to thick bolsters in front will leave little room for your thighs. Most of the aftermarket bucket seats appear to be sized for the Bascoms.

I was thinking about the height of the bolster, but since I added a couple extra inches of legroom the high bolster isn't too bad. Right now I have some 1st or 2nd Gen volkswagen scirocco seats in the truck, and those have a decent bolster on them.
Normally when I get into the truck I stand up and slip my legs between the steering wheel and seat, so NBD. Always best to test fit when available though and i'll certainly take your advice. I certainly won't be putting drift seats in there, those are a motherbtch to navigate.

What seats did we put into the raffle truck? I remember liking those ones too.

I was thinking about suspension seats because from what I recall they tend to be thinner too.

I love the Procar seats in my 40 they're the ones that Ironpig sells. Spent many a long day in the drivers seat including five days at Moab two weeks ago. They fit me well, offer good support and seem to be pretty tough. No signs of wear on them after seven seasons of use. Might not fit you right but I love them. You're more than welcome to give them a try at coal mine in July!

I have sat in Gary's and they fit my fat ass comfortably.

The Procars are super nice as everyone else has said. One thing to consider, if you aren't going to make your own adapters, is that the adapters that Scat makes for the pre-79 bucket seat 40's(ignore Scat's weird year range...I think they only list it fitting 74-75 or something like that) are pricey and frequently have lengthy backorders. They are a nice product, but don't expect to get them right before a trip or event.
