Hi everyone. I am trying to remove my flywheel housing so as to replace my clutch disc and pressure plate. I have the transmission removed and the flywheel under housing (pan) removed. The two top bolts on the flywheel housing have been removed but there seems to be other bolts that I can't see or access. I suspect there may a dowel or two between the flywheel housing and the engine, but I suspect there are bolts I can't see or locate?

Thanks for any direction / help.

John

If you are just trying to replace the clutch and flywheel, the housing does not need to be removed. Everything comes out the bottom of the truck.

Edit: What he said. ^^^

Fast Eddy, Copper204 and Hugh Heifer - many thanks for the help. I now have it all apart and everything has worked out. All the best.

I would remove the flywheel and have a machine shop inspect it. In my book that is part of a complete clutch replacement. While your at it I would replace the rear seal with a OEM seal. F/2F engines are famous for rear seal leaks. No time to do it like while it's all apart.

Ah-ha! Glad I found this thread. Pulled the engine (with tranny attached) to take the engine to the machine shop. separated the tranny no problem. Took out the two big bell housing bolts but it was still firmly in place. Knew something must be holding that big honking bell housing on. Gonna take the flywheel off anyway so they can resurface it. Glad to know the bolts holding the bell housing on are behind the flywheel. Thought I was going nuts. :)
