Sparks from starter/bell housing/flywheel?

The starter is mounted correctly, the solenoid wire is on bottom along with battery connection to battery. Move on from this. See photo, this is/was my personal 40 with 2F bellhousing (which you have) and same starter (which you have).

Direct drive starters have the solenoid connection on top as Mark depicted. Gear reduction is on bottom and requires a slightly longer battery cable when swapping on a 40 series.

Have you confirmed starter is connected to battery correctly, wires tight, grounded starter? If so - please test and confirm starter is functioning as required.

The original starter functioned correctly before I pulled it. The new starter also functions correctly.

Truck drives the same as it did before. I have not had the time to get it out and drive it enough to see if it still sparks.
