FJ25 Axle Swap? (1 Viewer)

Don't know if I am posting in the correct forum...Interested in swapping my FJ25 front axle for a '78 FJ40 front... Gearing looks to be the same, track width looks to be real close, I recognize that I might be into a driveline mod and a new master cylinder setup....Any feedback/tips would be great!

First of all, welcome to 'Mud!

Secondly we need pictures, lots of pictures.

Thirdly, make sure to check in in the FJ25 forum. It's the best place to answer all things 25 related. Heres a link.FJ25 Owners Group - IH8MUD Forums or scroll through the forum jump at the bottom of the page.

Lastly, in my opinion, keep it as stock as is reasonably possible. 25's are few and far between.

Stock engine? 1bbl or 2bbl carb?

I saw ONE such setup come into the shop YEARS ago w/ stock motor setup. The bk mstr/booster had been totally fubared to clear the carb.

Soooo, you might want to work on that first.

Thanks! Will do! Having a heck of a time sourcing the necessary brake parts. I can resleeve the wheel cylinders I have, but unfortunately, PO took one whole side out and lost them...

All stock, with exception of seats (late fj40 buckets). Would REALLY like to keep her all stock, but...
