Has anyone fit the FJC steelies over Aisin hubs on their 40? I got a slammin deal on 5 37" Krawler TAs and need 17X9 steelies, so before I go and get some black ProComps from 4Wheelparts, I was thinking FJC steelies would be great.

I realize backspacing is 4+ on these. Biggest concern is fitting them over the hubs.

Can it happen?

Yes works just fine..

I had to run 3" Yes 3" Spacers to clear 37x13.5 on my Sprung over Cruiser with the FJC wheels

COOL! Now explain the math to me of the 3" spacers and where did you get them?

I used to run the 17" FJC steelies on my 80 series and loved them, but a friend of mine that wheels his FJC really hard says that his steelies were really weak, dented a lot, and did not hold up well on the rocks.

Just my $.02

Diameter = Circumference / Pi

In order to see if this works, measure the circumference of hub first.

AISIN hub is approx. 13.3" circumference using a tape measure. So...

13.3 = 3.14 x Diameter

Use a little algebra....

Divide 13.3 / 3.14 = 4.24 " Diameter

The distance from one side of the circle to the other is referred to as the Diameter of a circle. So AISIN hub is approx. 4.25"

Too much information...I agree but it worked when I ordered my American Racing Mojaves. :)

Nice RED shiny hubs! Thanks for the geometry lesson refresher (I am in the tutoring business, how embarrassing?. I sure wish my Mojaves fit my hubs. Expensive paperweights......

Personally I would order some custom backspace 17's from summit. I think they are around $70 each for steelies. By the time you figure $150-200 for spacers, plus stock FJ wheels you are in $400 or more.

Yep. I looked at them on Summit. Cragar soft 8s are 5 for $379+shipping in an 17X9 backspaced 5". Custom backspaced they go up to $580+shipping.........but I don't see why the 5" backspacing would not be OK with a 17" wheel. What's the extra .5" going to hit?

Pro Comp Series 97 in a 17X9 are 5 for $450 with 4.5" backspacing. Local pick up. I think that might be a better deal.

Procomps are the better route and just gotta see on fit.

Oops...I thought I remembered the customs being cheaper. The 17x8 Soft 8 with 4.5 backspacing is $69.95 at summit. Black wagon wheels in the same size are the same price. They should ship free.

I thought I needed a 9" wheel. Shipping is free? WTF? Gotta link?

Hmmm. 37X12.5 tire on an 8" rim or 7.5" rim?

YUP 8" works. Just bought 4 17X8 6 on 5.5 with 4.5 backspacing for 291 shipped. I figure the 5th can wait since my rig is immobile.

Gotta love the free shipping from summit. That's going to be sweet when you get the Krawlers mounted.

dude...I can not wait!
