I remember your first 60. That was a sweet ride. I think you will love your new tires. They ride and drive great. Maybe i will see you at gsmtr.

I realize this thread is a decade old, but I was wondering if you struggle putting on the ARB side steps. I just bought some for my 62 and it seems like the driver's side doesn't really fit because the exhaust is blocking the front connection point. So weird.

You could have had your exhaust route changed over 30+ years huh?

What size tires are those? 33x10.50x15?

2009....likely 33x9.50-15. No longer available.

closest to that is what I run now. 255/85-16

Does the EMU kit come with everything you need, do i need any extended brake lines or just the kit and new shocks?

Get it from @cruiseroutfit and talk to a tech versus ordering it on line. They can advise exactly

OME rear springs are L/R oriented.

The modular OME shackles are super easy to install compared to the barbell type shackle that come with Hell for Stout systems and BDS suspensions. That said, they are 4x more expensive. I don't know if it is worth it. OME shackles are damn cool, but the price is crazy.

Swaybars; I took mine off. If I decide to re-install it, Georg Esterer sells extensions. PM orangefj45 here on MUD for the kit.

My install took me alone about 6 hours to complete. I have done this quite a few times, but not for a while so I was a bit rusty. I would suggest a helper, but if you can't get one, there are no 2 man jobs. The rear packs are stupid heavy, I would estimate they are 65# each.

Here is my final picture. My shocks won't be in until Monday and on Tuesday I will get my 33 x 10.50 BFG MT/KMs installed.

This is the first I have heard about the sway bars needing extensions?

Auto Zone stocks a set that are perfect length to extend them.

I’m going to have to reread this thread after all I’ve done since to make sure it’s still good tech

I know this an old thread and very helpful as I just installed the med OME in the rear and I am going to do the fronts next. I didn’t get shims for my front springs should I have?

Also the arrows on the springs are deceiving. For the rears I know know they go toward the front of the vehicle but what about the front springs?

I like the extra caster. You don’t have to use them no.

Look for the military wrap on the spring. That is the big long extra spring that wraps around the eyelet end.

That end always goes on the fixed end. The other is the shackle

Thank you! The PO had the old springs backwards, my rear wheel was sitting toward the rear of the truck. Now it’s centered. I went mediums in the rear and heavys in the front. I’m wondering if I should send the front springs back, the truck is gonna remain all stock.

All of he heavy v medium is added leaf springs. Not sure without looking at them but it’s the first long one from the top that does not have a U attached to it.

Also the small overload springs and the bottom.

I can tell you with a photo.

That makes sense, I’m just wondering why the package is sold with heavys I’m the front and mediums in the rear. Why would they not be equal?

Hi, If you tow a lot put heavies in the rear. I hate towing with the back sunk down and the trailer swaying.
