Based on its location, it’s probably the idle solenoid of the carburetor. If you trace it to the source, and that source is a barrel on the back of the carburetor, that’s for sure what it is. You will need to provide it key-hot power, or the engine will not idle.Does anyone have any idea what sensor this is and or its function? Thanks

Thanks. It does go to a little barrel on the back of the carburetor. I have not found the female connector on my wiring harness yet.Based on its location, it’s probably the idle solenoid of the carburetor. Chances are you wont. Factory plugs are green, and an OE single lead would have a bullet connector. It’s going to be on the same section of harness with your missing temp sensor wire, so there’s a start. Good luck.Thanks. It does go to a little barrel on the back of the carburetor. Thanks for the start, my harness is currently a nightmare. I have a bunch of random unused connectors and random splices. Though, I have most of it figured out. Also I have found the temp sensor wire & my oil temp sensor wire. Havent found the oil sensor yet. Where would the oil temp sensor be on the engine?Chances are you wont. Newb. Wag he means oil pressure.I may be ill-informed…I don’t know that there is an OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR unless added by a PO
What does PO stand for? I'm pretty new to this forum.I may be ill-informed…I don’t know that there is an OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR unless added by a PO
Yes thats what i meant. The wire that goes to the oil pressure guage is grouped with the water temp wire. but on the other hand there is a wire that comes off the distributor and goes to the oil filter. Also what is the search function?Newb. Wag he means oil pressure.
On a 2F it should be near the oil filter.
Have you tried using the search function?
Ive been using the search function a bit before posting to this thread. search hasnt been that helpful to me so far thoughOn my Winders ten laptop running chrome, the search feature is on the top right with a magnifying glass icon. Offers many parameters for the search such as everywhere, to this thread. You can search for members or specific words. There is a way to use the google search in any data base.
People here like to help. We understand that new folks don't always have the computer skills or correct name/function of a part and the regional terms can be interesting too. Hood Bonnet Trunk Boot Gas Petrol Ground Earth... So if you make some effort to find your answer first, then folks will be glad to chime - however lack of effort on your part can lead to folks putting you on ignore ie tough love to force you to do the work.
I understand the search function isn't all that wonderful - phrasing your inquiry in different ways can of often yield better results. Still looking for how search using google I have it written down somewhere, this might have it
