FJ-40 to 1979 4x4 mini-truck trade. (1 Viewer)

Do you think its a pretty fair swap. Both vehicles are a little rusfty (ruff and rusty) but both really good bases (engine and drivetrain and frame good).
I just recently sold my project 40 and I have this 40 sitting around and I need a Pickup and a local is selling a MINT 79 P/U that i think would fit the bill perfectly.The FJ40 is a 78 wth orginal drive train and runs like a top. The same with 79 Pickup. it looked like a 20R engine to me but im not real sure here. Welp le me know what you guys think since im not real in tune with yota pickups!

i would think that the 40 would be worth alittle more than the hilux.
the truck should have a 20R/4speed, if it's orginal.

I would think you could sell the 40 and get a better truck with the proceeds.

Well, I think I am getting the truck. He didnt want to trade the cruiser but he wanted my moms old van which is for sale. So hes taking the van and pops said he would just take the cash from the sale of the cruiser so its all working out.

The truck is in better shape than I thought. Its a Nevada truck and it has NO FRAME RUST and the only rust is on the tailgate.

Its a soft-bright yellow. was this a factory color?

I think so. About 10 years ago, I recall that a friend had an early Yota 4x4 with that color.
