Can anyone tell me how to remove the Hardtop from the braces above the doors. The braces are attached to the hardtop and windshield frame, just above the door. I removed the 5 screws on inside the land cruiser, but can not get the brace cover off. I checked the archives and could not find anything about this. Please help

Are you disassembling the hard top, or just taking it off? To take it off, just remove the two countersunk Phillips screws that attach the L-shaped braces on both sides to the windshield frame.

I looked at and it seems that there are 3 phillips headed screws and 1 phillips headed that hold the brace to the side panel, then there is 2 that hold the brace to the windshield. i can look inside of this cover and see more 3 more bolts that hold the brace to the hard top, are there two pieces to this brace or just one?

after you remove the phillips heads that are horizontal, you pull/pry off the cover(it splits) to get to the vertical screws.
