Hello!
I am beginning to think through a replacement windshield frame as I’ve come to realize that mine is mostly bondo held together with a thick coat of silver paint. Since I have a SA truck with the Fivres top, the upper windshield gasket is NLA to my understanding. Have others figured out another solution? The one that’s currently on there is thoroughly toast.
Thanks!

I don’t think it’s NLA. I saw it recently on partsouq. 6315190K02

@thebill What is a "fivres top"? Do you have a picture?
Yeah, I don't know what a fivres top is either. Strange that if it's aftermarket they wouldn't just make it to work with Toyota seals.

@sark @Bazz South American 70 series were largely imported as CKD, with certain parts sourced from within the region; one of which is the FRP top, produced by a company named Fivres who has been out of business for some time. Logic *should* dictate that they would have utilized identical mating surfaces as the OEM top, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
I hope I was incorrect in assessing that the OEM seal I test-fit when I had my top off recently isn’t a direct replacement for the one that’s on there but I couldn’t get it to mate up properly. It’s also a very different shape than the mating surface. This is probably because the windshield frame is the one made for the ragtop version of the truck which is slightly different than the regular one made for the OEM fiberglass top.

If you are looking at replacing the windshield frame anyway, then why not see about the stock one that was used for the FRP top perhaps it will mate better? This way you would not need to order another seal as well.

So you're saying this top is physically different than the rest of the FRP tops? Why would there be a different top for the same model cruisers? Sorry, all my experience is with JDM cruisers, besides my 60 from the US.

Maybe this is the time to go the soft top route, while you're replacing the windshield frame (since that's part of it). It's not cheap though from what I hear :D

Hello,

There is a little complication with the Colombia spec FRP top.

For whatever reason, the top was not intended to detach easily. It is attached to the body with a thick sealant. There is no seal between the top and the body, as is the case with the other FRP top 73 Series trucks.

Windshield replacement implies cutting through this sealant after removing the bolts that attach the top to the body.

Another 'Mud member did this job not long ago. You can try searching this forum.

I am not sure whether the Colombian top can be reattached with a seal.

It is possible to source the windshield, either the OEM part or a fiberglass aftermarket replacement.
