I had a blast on the trip over MLK guys. Thanks for letting me tag along. I may just have to break down and get a rig now...maybe a Pig. I heard that Richard could help me get it up and running in no time since he is known for that:D .

JP - Fishing was slow on Sunday due to the alcohol consumption over the weekend. However I did manage to catch a nice native rainbow, which kept Andy and I from getting skunked!

Chuck - Send me an email when you get a chance... nasmith@blueridgecouncil.org

Thanks again for the hospitality guys and I look forward to seeing everyone again.

Nate

Damn man first post and you have to attack a guy, its just not right. Let me know when we are going to check out the Clemson facilities man I want to know what my tuition is paying for.

Welcome to the UC. glad you could make the MLK trip.

Glad you have crossed over to the darkside nate!!!! and glad to see you once again out fished your brother :grinpimp:.........

Let us know when you start looking for a piggy we'd be more than happy to look it over with you

swing by barleys on the Feb. 3rd if you get the chance!

Shoot Marshall your email and he can send you the 2 club emails he sent in the past week both of which are guys in ga selling pigs. As for the fishing we all know Andy couldnt catch a fish out of a bucket. :flipoff2:

Good to hear from you , Nate. Go ahead and take that leap into the dark side. You have a whole family of support here.

Just joking Richard. I ain't in the market for a Pig. Hopefully will finalize the purchase on the 25 in a week or two. I will shoot Marshall an email....I want to see some of the pics from the weekend.

nate make sure to post up some pics of that 25!!!!

............ and if you do pick it up, if you don't give it the utmost respect it deserves or miss treat it in any way shape or form I will break you legs :grinpimp:.......... there are only roughly 60 accounted for in the country and very few as complete as andy has described this one

oh and if you decide it isn't right for you I call dibs

It is freaking sweet JP. Although I think it may get it painted with orange and white checkerboards and a new horn that plays Rocky Top will be installed as well. Pretty crazy find!! The owner will sell just had to come to terms on the magic number.

well cool man I am def. stoked for you........ a 25 isn't a bad way to break into the cruiser community. I mean every smoe out there has a 40, but now a 25 that is a true conisuers cruiser

........ I have an original FJ25 owners manual you could make a copy of if you want, could be somewhat helpful

I cant wait to see this 25, especially after JP and I hiked up and down that damn creek for like 4 hrs looking and couldn't find it.

Good to see you on here, dude. I'll forward you the e-mail Marshall sent out.

Just so everyone knows, Nate is a true fisherman in the "tall tale" sense of the title.

He has perfected the, "fish all day without any results and then slip away, out of sight around the creek corner for 10 seconds to land the mystery fish (akin to the Lochness Monster and Bigfoot) a few minutes before quittin' time".

It is quite an act and something everyone should see!! :grinpimp:

Welcome aboard!

Well, if it isn't Nate , The Natural, my beer pong and dart buddy!
Nice seeing you again at MLK. Grab that golden oldie 25 and
bring it to a meet for all to admire. SWEET find!
Oh, and welcome to Mud. :flipoff2: (the official salute)
Ohm....cruiser,cruiser,cruiser....Ohm

Yes, welcome Nate! It was good to meet new faces at this event. I can't wait to see this 25. The suspense is building!

By the way, on Sunday Heather and I stopped by the Hatchery where Tellico Rob resides to check out the Rainbows they had on display. They have one "showroom" pool that is full of 14-18" rainbow trout. Also, he confessed the Rainbows aren't truly native to the area, but are spawned at a different location and then reared in the pools at the hatchery until they are about 8". Then they stock the rivers/streams a few times a year.

We actually passed Tellico Rob in his 40 right after we packed it up and called it a day. I wasn't sure it was him but remarked to Nate that's who I thought it was. It was confirmed after I saw the same 40 in the pictures Marshall e-mailed.

We actually stopped at the hatchery too. Pretty cool spot. That brood pool has some HUGE trout. Many over 25"!! I can't imagine if a bear or wild cat found their way in there one night!

Rick - you're right that rainbows aren't "native" to that area (neither are browns) but they reproduce naturally in the Tellico as well as the feeder waters like the North and Bald. So when you catch a rainbow, it can be either hatchery raised / stocked or a wild fish that was born and has always lived in the river. Nate was speaking of the latter...

Yeah right Andy!! I made sure that he got some of the trout slime to smell. Some say I'm arrogant when it comes to fishing and skiing but when you're as good as I am you earn that right.

I think Andy & I passed Tellico Rob when we were leaving on Sunday after fishing. Around 3:30 or so.
