I'd like one of the Accuform molded dash covers for the cracked dash in my 1989 4Runner.

All of the eBay auctions show the piece (that looks right for my 89) as only for 86-88 4Runners.

Does anyone know if there was a dash change? I'm thinking/hoping the vendor doesn't know the first gen was imported through 89...

Thanks!

That would make sense. There are a lot of sites that treat the 89 as a second gen when checking compatability...

84-89 4Runners and 84-88 Trucks share the same dash. The only difference I'm aware of is the fairly rare clinometer gauge set, but even that is a bolt on sort of affair.

Not quite. There was a change in mid 86. The earlier dash has a dash cap that has a tray that goes full length. The later dash has a shorter tray in the dash pad. The profiles are different, you can't mix the dash pads and gauge surround.

You could swap them but you have to do both.

Correct, pass side and driver side together.

Thanks all! Thanks for the link @maco35

Anyone know which color matches a black 89 with gray interior best?

Your welcome!
