So everyone I was able to replace the rear seal in my transfercase. Had to drop the drive shaft and drain the water and oil. Seems to be working pretty good so far.

I started to have starter issues no pun intended so I decided to take my starter and alt to have professionaly rebuilt by my buddy to. Who own his on business doing just that. Rebuilding alt and starters.

I just ordered a new motor mount for the FJ60. I have been having issues with the Fan hitting the fan shroud when I am in 4 Low and put the drive train in a Bind. The Motor was flexing out of the motor mount just enough where the Fan would hit. I was able to have my buddy look at the mount and put the drive train under a load and see that the motor mount is broken in Half! I will be changing this out this weekend and hope to get my Alternator and starter back soon.

Only $32 buck plus shipping for the mount not too bad.

I was wondering if someone could give me some pointers on the easiest way to change the motor mount. I was going to use the engine lift to lift the motor and then just replace that way unless someone has came up with an easier way?

2x4 on the oil pan with a bottle jack underneath it. Loosen the motor mount nuts on both sides and jack up on the bottle jack just far enough so you can get the broken mount out.

Piece of cake :D

Awesome thanks GLTHFJ60! I was thinking that there was some easy trick!

I also had another question on an issue I have been trying to figure out. I have Desmoged my 60, Trollhole carb, new fuel filter, Dist Cap, Rotor, plugs and plug wires. For some reason when the engie gets warm she will have a little miss at low rpm. I can rev the engine to 1000+ RPM and no miss at all very strong. I never have any issues when off road or normal driving. Never over heats, no water in oil. I was going to seamfoam the engine this weekend and see if they would make a difference. I also read on some fourms that this is normal for the 2f because of the flow of the exhaust. I am not sure just want to make sure there is nothing wrong with the engine or it is running to lean or rich. I also hooked a Vaccum gauge to the motor and everything looked normal as far as stock reading with no flux in engine vaccum.

Then you are fine, mine does the same thing. I believe I read somewhere that the "miss" was because of the way the piston stroke is at lower rpm, something akin to 3 pistons moving up at once gives it a bit of a weird idle, not completely sure though. But anyways, it is normal, and if you vacuum is good through all the normal tests then you should be fine.

Awesome thread. Thanks for posting all the pics of your restoration. Great work!

Thanks appreciate it. I hope to get the alt and starter back today to get her running this weekend. We will see. Will post some pics when I get them back.

Ok so I wanted to take my seat belt locker thingy apart and see why it would not work right. After taking it apart I discovered that there was 3 or 4 different plastic pieces that broke. Time to order a seat belt from cruiser parts.net

Awesome new I was able to order my arb bumper and winch today. Arb bumper will take about a week to come in for CA. Can't wait to get it on!!! Has any had any issues installing an arb bumper on their fj60. I did my dad's fj80 and it was very easy I would assume the 60 would be the same.
Here is my dad's 80.

No issues installing the ARB on mine. Make sure you have someone to help you lift it though. The bumper itself isn't that bad. Add a winch and you will probably need some help. My girlfriend and I installed my ARB together (no winch) super easy.

I await pictures  :D
