i’m sure they are different, but do they accomplish the same end goal?

Make sure that the tubes you buy of the stuff you listed are not expired.
There have been a few folks on here that bought it from the dealership, it was an expired tube, and it didn't work.

Amen to that! I bought a tube of the OEM FIPG and it doesn’t work! I have sealed my transmission pan on my 80 for the second time and it will not seal and I thought it was me? I’ve done this service several times and have never had this issue of the FIPG not making a seal.
I threw this out there just in case Aisin could be a better product?

But can you use a non OEM product on a Land Cruiser ?

You can use anything as long as it's ATF compatible; a gasket will work, as long as the pan sealing flange is flat. The problem is the pans are so thin that the flange gets bent easily and then the gasket won't seal. That's why Toyota used the FIPG.

When I was building off-highway axles, we went back and forth between gaskets and sealant, ad nauseum. It was always dependent on who got the make the decision, and how many brownie points they were going to get, and never about which sealed best.

I’m afraid that if it's a pan, or a case seal and it’s not orange other parts may degrade and in 5 years my resale price will be affected.
I can’t quit the FIPG man!

I don't know about Toyota FIPG, but most rtv-type sealants that I'm aware of are cured by exposure to moisture/humidity. If you're having trouble getting it to cure and live in a very dry part of the country, it might help to - after bolting the part in place - mist the area with a spray bottle. Just a thought. Here in the PNW, a tube of gasket maker tends to be in one of two states: good, or already solid in the tube.

Bob when I have had issue is when the pan gets out of square from prying it off. Set the pan on something level and make sure the flange is straight still

Pans square. I think my FIPG froze in my garage over the winter when the outside temps were 10* for a week!
