I have HDK later-series (longer, with ABS ring) front CV joints (those things you guys call 'birfs') on my factory part-time 4wd 80. The original genuine ones (43405-60030) and the other p/n showing for my year of 80 (43405-60050) are both long out of production.

Both Partsouq and Toyodiy quote 43405-60120 as a substitute, along with HDK TO015. Are those a 'direct' replacement for the earlier shorter non-ABS CV's? Partsouq's pic of the -60120 genuine part shows no ABS ring. My 80 doesn't have ABS.

I don't recall what the HDK p/n of the ones I have installed now is, but I do know I had to cut a new snap-ring groove in each to compensate for the longer shaft (8 mm longer). I'm still using std Aisin hubs with no spacers.

But I'm gearing up for another big front-end job to sort out problems with brakes, check and re-grease bearings, etc. and I want to go back to the correct length CV's plus check and replace all seals, etc. The last time I rebuilt the front end was 5 yrs ago (and about 100 k km's ago) so it's definitely due.
