Builds Finally doing it, 4" lift on my LX (1 Viewer)

I think on the shocks you are considering the "2.5" is referring to the body diameter rather than the length. Most of these shocks come in various lengths. There are a lot of informative threads on here about all of the shocks you have mentioned it just takes a lot of searching to find the right ones. Best of luck with the choices and as the rest have said I am looking forward to seeing the results.

You also left out the option of MAF control arm drop brackets. I run them in the 4" variety and love them. Yes they do hang a little low, but it's never been a problem. The pro's are that they are easy, fast, and cheap to install. No bushing swaps, no press needed, just bolt in and drives great.

Actually the shocks I listed were the ones specified for 4" lift according to their respective website. I will be linking the threads as well. I just haven't gotten that far.

I will look into them. I'm not interested in cheap solutions. I'm also not trying to pick the most expensive. But I will give it a fair shake.

Man-a-fre also makes extended ss brake lines. I'm not sure how they compare in performance but they are cheaper than slee. Although I put put slee's on mine (pre lift also) and have been happy with them.

You mentioned probably buying a DC front driveshaft. Member "Delancy" has one for sale in Classifieds section. Just a heads up.

Yeah I just PM' him. He mentioned there being a problem or that is didn't solve a problem. I will try and hunt down that thread to see what the issue was.

I'm not a fan of MAF so I haven't gone out of my way not to list their stuff but I haven't gone out of my way TO add their stuff. What sucks is most of that stuff is made by LCWIZARD who is a good guy. His company is 4PLUS. He took care of me when I had an issue with the 60. Maybe I will just post up his solutions to buy from him directly. I dunno. Pretty sure he did not make the brake lines but he does most of the metal work AFAIK.

Convinced me. MetalTech it is...when/if needed. Thanks

Only problem with Metal Tech is that the lowest they have is 1.5" thats about twice what you need to fix the stinkbug look.

Yeah. More than likely I will have reverse stink bug due to my current weight distribution.

FWIW Im using MT 2" spacer with J's on all corners and sit level. I also have a template of the same design, so you could take it to a fab shop and cut the pipe in between the plates to whatever height you wanted.

I recently installed the Slee panhard rods and belly plate on my mothers 80 series along with MAF lower control arms and some 1 inch urethane spacers. The rig had OME springs (I think J's), shocks and caster correction. My mother of course noticed that the vehicle seemed to ride smother and quieter (I equate this to the urethane spacers) and also, it appeared to track much better. The rig already had the Slee drag link on it. It drives super nice and comfy.

Thanks for the plug.

After reading my reply, War and Peace, from cover to cover, won't seem as daunting a read.

My apologies for not properly closing the for sale thread and the lengthy reply to your message.

Only posting here to, once again, ensure the M(ud)asses that the DC shaft didn't work for me due to the correction inherent with the Superflex radius arm, NOT anything to do with the drive shaft construction, retailer, or fabricator.

I can't speak highly enough about Rick (Landtank) or Josh's (VanGo?) products and service level, and my only complaint is they don't have more products for me to help support them by purchasing.

I'm hoping I won't need them at all ;)

Thanks for the offer of the template but when it comes time I'd like to at least try to support MUD vendors :D

....try.

Although its not a set I will consider for my own lift, I added the info about the MAF LCAs to the first post.

I love fiction so no worries :D

No stress at all. I still need to reply to it :p

Now I am pretty sure I will not be going with the SuperArms. In fact your are the only one of two that I know of on this forum that has installed it and it didn't seem to go all that smoothly. Plus we have yet to see the long term on it. Soo....

It seems that the DC DS may still be needed but it all depends where my particular setup ends up. Perhaps I will make that decision towards the end.

Your about an hour away from us if you want to stop in and take our 4" for a spin around the neighborhood...........any time after SEMA;)

Thanks for the offer. Is this the truck you are talking about?:

I actually leave for Asia on the last day of the show and get back right before turkey day. I will see what I can work out. I am very interested in trying out the TJM system since I know literally zero about it.

Oh and yes its an hour away but its the 909 :hillbilly:

I know we're in the land of the black sock and the home of the flat bill.....it's tough on some us out here:) We have two 80's with 4" in our stables....... We also have some top secret stuff were working on that HOPEFULLY will make its debut at sema.....we have an open door policy at TJM and encourage you to come out any time!

I will do that. I do have to ask: I really hate big ass logos all over the place on my truck. I have a home for stickers and its the DS rear sliding window. One of the things that does put me off, in honesty, is seeing the big bright yellow TJM sticker all over the place and on EVERY single piece of suspension gear. I appreciate good workmanship but I don't want to be a driving billboard. I'm assuming that the stickers are either easy to remove or just come in a pack to be adhered by the owner? Sorry it may seem petty but its how I like things.

Peel them off:) not going to hurt our feelings....... Aussies love their yellow, us USA folks, we love monochromic flat black look......
