It's less an angle consideration and more a clearance issue against the 4L60. It looks like I'll be using the mini rear double carden for the rear but the front is super close to the tranny......like really close. I've read numerous threads on the various ujoint/dshaft options and they have all bee super helpful but I havent seen much of anything on the front dshaft next to a 4L60.

if your linking the front then go two piece. I think hendrix motorsports makes a cool one for toyota.

Then you can get it away from the tranny pan and make it the same lenght/plane as your front link for minimal extension/compression.

A friend of mine does 7075 links here in wash if ya cant get those threaded locally.

You shouldnt need a CV on the front. Unless its cut and turned it will want a non cv to keep from vibrating.

Thanks Chop Shop, If I can't find a local that will do it then i'll get back to you for your friends contact info. I'm not liking the front, so I don't think the CV is called for, I was just looking for anybody that had any experiance with the AA driveshaft.

Im a mini truck guy. I can tell ya about anything practical about 79-95 trucks.:grinpimp:

Cruisers and available swap parts oem and aftermarket and your guys "hot setups" are all new to me. Im lurkin and learnin as much as I can. :)
But I have put alot of the wrong parts together to make the right combo many times and will contribute any info on ITEMS I have ACTUAL EXPERIENCE with and nothing else.

I can try to hep ya on any driveline stuff out of trucks if ya need.

Hendrix uses the stock pillow block bearing for their bling Aluminum carrier bearing housing.

My 60 is leaf sprung in the front, and uses a carrier bearing to miss the AOD transmission.

yeah, it is in my Bob thread in here.

I'm still using this same shaft, I just modified the ends for the NP205 case and the rockwell flange at the other.

Thats Frikken Awsome! I can totally swing that! And I feel way better about that setup than the tinny setup from AA. Thanks Eskimo!

Well, It's been somtime, but I'm ready to get back at it. I've gathered a few more parts and dropped back to steel links. Links are in the truck and it's rolling on it's on again. I'll post more pics very soon.

Hey, I will be adding pics of the links this weekend, but for now what are people using for rear coil springs? It looks likesome of the jeep springs would work but i would HATE to taint the beast with that sort of gear....any thoughts?

I'm running Front 6 cylinder TJ springs inthe back of my 40. They are a bit on the soft side, but flex really well..

Isotel, Thanks for the post! I will be looking into your setup. Thats one of the next things i have to look at.

Mace, what happened to no Heep parts!!! (but do they work?)

So I got the links welded up and the rear end in place. I used 1026 DOM 1/4 wall. They are friggen big and heavy! I'm going to have to add them to the unsprung weight in the calculator when I get a chance. I burned in the link mounts after i flexed the rear end and was happy with the articulation. no binding and it cleared everything just fine for the moment. I'm going to hate to cut those basterds out of there when something gets in the way!!!

I put the AA twin stick shift linkage together adn I didn't like the way they had it in their instructions. Does anybody have any experiance with running it this way (Pict). The only thing I don't like is the shear on the heim that controls the front output. This configuration is far more direct. Anyway, thoughts are welcome.

Also go the tranny mount burned in. used the original tranny mount and fabed a cross member. happy with the outcome. Trans case still hangs low but not much you can do about that. It's tucked up as high as it can go with out cutting out the floor.

I grabed one of the original drive shafts and sized it up for the rear and the shorter of the two fit! I will probably have to clearance the yoke but it looks like it will work. I havent done much work with the plunge yet but we'll see. The axel is sitting WAY back, may need to shorten the links and bring it up a bit.
