Wow! Reviving an 11 year old thread. I got a set from MOT and have had them installed on my FJ60. I did not find the plate but I use some nut sets so I could take them on on off easy to be able to do engine work. They work great and there my blind spot is almost nonexistent. Though they seem to get hit by people in parking lots walking by my 60.

So the big question is, what is it like driving and using those mirrors 5 feet in-front of you? Got to ba unique feature to get used to.

I've had a few MG's like in the pic. They have all had fender mirrors. There wasn't any real getting used to it. You don't have to turn your head to look at the mirrors as they are always in your line of sight. It is one of the best things I have done on my 60. I can see down the length of both sides without turning my head. Originally, the driver's side was a regular mirror while the passenger side was convex. I've switched the driver's side to convex as well. Close up stuff is a little screwy but the I can see so much more. I highly recommend these mirrors.

I had a makeshift one on mine (Motorcycle mirror bolted onto a bracket, way smaller than these). Much more useful. Total visibility down the side of your vehicle, as well as the entire lane next to you. It's bizarre it's done any other way.

I still have those mirrors and I'm definitely not getting rid of them. Using them is really easy as you don't have to turn your head to look at them. They are in your line of sight as you are looking down the hood driving. The picture is when I had them on a previous FJ60. They are now on my third 60. I install them with nutserts so they are easy to remove for engine work.

MOT is a user on here, he sold them to the current owner above. Fender mirrors are very much NLA, the only chance you'll get at ownership is hunting for NOS or used bits from Japan. They were only offered on Japanese 60 'vans'. They usually sell between $4-800 used on yahoo auctions. Good luck!

Another option is 70 series fender mirrors. Not ideal but an option for those looking.

Thanks for the info. Yes they are very hard to find.
