Body Gurus, need some advise. I have 99% of all my body parts in near perfect condition. But my fender aprons are bothering me. There is surface rust , it's the pitting on the top where the hood rubbed that I don't like. I'm willing to clean these up , if I can't source out another pair. I called cruiser.net and they said usually most parts aprons will have the pitting. On one hand,I saw the aluminum aprons on-line. Willing to buy them. On the other hand,I just don't know if there's a filler that I can use that will make me feel confident enough that it will not crack or separate with constant opening and closing of the hood. I do have the rubber cushions that were supposed to be there. They will be installed once I figure this out. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance. The dog.

if its surface rust why not just get them blasted down to bare metal.. epoxy primed and use glazing putty to smooth out the pitting?

Fenders / Aprons

O.K. most fenders or should I say all fenders are pretty much the same on outside skin on the inside they have different mounts for Coil, Washer bottle etc.. aprons again pretty much the same I have some nice steel ones,,,Fenders I have a few also. Yes the aftermarket ones usually are CRAP.!look nice but rarely fit. I'm on west coast your on East coast shipping not cheap. Shipping might be cheaper than $80 an hour body shop charges to fix a bad fender.
