Hey Jon, congrats on the sale of that truck! Nice to have cash back in pocket!

I really hate so many things about facebook marketplace, but definitely it's 'the' place now.

As much as I hate FB, marketplace just works.

Plus, where else could you find one of these when you were actually browsing for a decent soldering iron?

I truly hate so many things bout Marketplace... but it's where anything decent is listed.

The other day I picked up an Industrial sewing machine for my son's school. $35 for a Singer industrial machine built in Scotland in 1935. It barely looks like it was used. It came with the original owners manual, and a Singer Box about the size of a box of matches... it was filled with the original accesories that came with it when it was new. Extremely surprising to find an 89 year old machine in almost new condition... especially for $35.

Not a 4WD? Been on Marketplace for 18 weeks. Now I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong with it. It’s a beautiful truck.

#1 guess for me would be the single cab. Lotta people seem to be into that whole creating offspring thing.

It's Texas too so not being American probably carries weight.

My neighbour has a chev with duramax. First time the head gasket went 2 years ago, it cost him 8k to have repaired. Last month it was 12k.

I'll stick with imports I think. 😳

Sorta similar… a friend had a low mileage Ram 1500. 2010 or something like that. Low mileage, well taken care of and in excellent shape. Last month it would be a $10k truck.

It died on him in the middle of an intersection. Towed it to a shop. Gas engine so nothing to fancy. Lifter problem. $8000 to repair. While on the hoist they noticed his sway bar had sheared in two… part alone was $1000.

So $9000 of repairs if he installed the sway bar himself. He was planning to take the 2500$ the shop offered him for it. For that kind of money it should cover more than a set of lifters. It should be a new crate motor installed and have change to spare.

Suddenly the $15k I’ve spent (in total ) on my 40 in 33 years seems like a real bargain… especially since $15k probably covers the $1250 purchase price. Possibly a bit more since I’m on its third set of tires… at most 18-19k total cost (other than fuel and oil changes ).

Well buddy said he’d call me this morning. Has a woody for the cruiser.

I inquired within 2 hours. She told me she wanted more because of the amount of interest. Supposedly some dude is offering 3G.

Still posted, maybe I should call her back?

I was going to get it for the seats. Get in running and driving and sell it. The seats have been re-upholstered. 1800$. It’s a 4 speed unfortunately.

I couldn’t help myself.

Hahaha! Buddies wife has him by the balls.
