Any recommendations for a halfway decent compression tester - one that won't break the bank and is reasonably accurate?

I can't find my old one and want to pick up a new one.

Been very happy with the OTC 5605, it was pretty challenging to find a bad review online when I bought it.

i have an Innova 3613 kit i bought years ago. Nothing fancy. But made sure it had all the adapters as a BMW S14 engine I have needs a long adapter to get down to the plugs.

Only thing I hate is it didn't come in a blow molded case so all the adapters are rolling around loose in a box.

Harbor freight or equivelant.

Unless you're using it weekly/ professionally.

My thoughts being the main things I'm looking for if i do a compression test,
- is compression well within the specified range.
- is compression consistent across all cylinders

I don't think you need something that's super fancy.
It's easy to repeat a test on each cylinder as you go. Bleed off the pressure, re-test.

If the result on either criteria above is a fail, a fancy tester isn't going to help with the hard decisions.

YMMV
