Question for all you structural steel folks including @miser

I am brainstorming the sleeve section frame I need to manufacture. Would it be acceptable to use
A-36 Steel Channel 5 x 9.0 lb (5" X 1.885 X .325) Or .190 ? for one side of my clamshell U/C frame sections? That way I just have to have someone bend up some .250 or somewhat smaller (3/16) C to fit on the outside of the steel channel?

That should get me really close to the OD of 5.5"

Thoughts?

I would just fish plate the ouside before using c chanel inside. Use similer size to the frame thickness

Oh, and Josh is narrowing down his color choices.

Jungle love monstaliner with Black Star Wars symbol on hood. I believe this is the general look less the J$$P.

Like green. Just not a fan of bedliner as exterior finish.

Natural Green Pearl. Depending on the light angle it can be green or almost black.

Personally, if he can be persuader away from the greens, I think his ride would look good in one of the many military desert tan finishes.

See if he can use photoshop to lay his design on this image.

Got the final template made and taken to the Metal Shop. One and three-quarter inch DOM came in Friday. Decided to have the Metal Shop bend the main hoop, so hopefully that will read ready to put in next week.

Many thanks to @FZJ80 in KC for tearing the front apart after he tore his down today, so we can change out oil pump gasket and front crank seal.

Looks like some major cleaning needed.

Hey, what size heater hose do you need for rear heater delete?

I'm pretty sure I used 5/8 for all of mine

½" or something mm for the actual rear heater lines. If you are deleting, then you just use the ⅝ to bypass the portions that used to go to the rear heat.

Found a few hours to go out and start planning the roll cage and new body mount to be able to tie into the frame. At the same time looking at the lower rocker. I was planning on cutting us out like some people have to add a slider high and tight. Just seems like this gives so much structure to the cage that I'm not comfortable doing that. And unfortunately as we were concerned before realized that I cut too much of the rocker off. So with that said Started working to add it back on. Great opportunity use my new spot welder.

Hey, You wouldnt happen to be able to graba measurement off of one of the rocker panels for me? I'm looking for the widest inside dimension.
Thank you!

Got Josh out of bed early this morning to work on the front end of the engine. front crank pulley seal, oil pump gasket, water pump, rear heater delete all done. Also tapped and installed the sensor for the kuso slim temperature gauge. Pulled out the rear heater and found another $.94 in change. Started to replace all the transmission cooler lines and power steering high-pressure hose.

What made you choose that length for the rockers? Body mount? I'm pretty close to chopping the rest of the rear off the white trash and going with a flatbed.
