Question for all you structural steel folks including @miser
I am brainstorming the sleeve section frame I need to manufacture. Would it be acceptable to use
A-36 Steel Channel 5 x 9.0 lb (5" X 1.885 X .325) Or .190 ? for one side of my clamshell U/C frame sections? That way I just have to have someone bend up some .250 or somewhat smaller (3/16) C to fit on the outside of the steel channel?
Got the final template made and taken to the Metal Shop. One and three-quarter inch DOM came in Friday. Decided to have the Metal Shop bend the main hoop, so hopefully that will read ready to put in next week.
½" or something mm for the actual rear heater lines. If you are deleting, then you just use the ⅝ to bypass the portions that used to go to the rear heat.
Found a few hours to go out and start planning the roll cage and new body mount to be able to tie into the frame. At the same time looking at the lower rocker. I was planning on cutting us out like some people have to add a slider high and tight. Just seems like this gives so much structure to the cage that I'm not comfortable doing that. And unfortunately as we were concerned before realized that I cut too much of the rocker off. So with that said Started working to add it back on. Great opportunity use my new spot welder.

Got Josh out of bed early this morning to work on the front end of the engine. front crank pulley seal, oil pump gasket, water pump, rear heater delete all done. Also tapped and installed the sensor for the kuso slim temperature gauge. Pulled out the rear heater and found another $.94 in change. Started to replace all the transmission cooler lines and power steering high-pressure hose.
What made you choose that length for the rockers? Body mount? I'm pretty close to chopping the rest of the rear off the white trash and going with a flatbed.
