Well, reassembly of the 80 is delayed again. I thought I might r/r the fan clutch. Kevin helped me the first time years ago. Does anyone know a local (Tucson) source of the silicon oil?

Almost any RC hobby shop will have silicone fluid, used for RC vehicle shocks.

Before you re-oil it, be sure you take a close look at the bearings. I had one where the dust shield came loose and several bearings fell out - leading to a front end 'tick' that didn't go away after I changed the belts.

Here's the thread on it: Fan Clutch Replacement: FZJ80 @ 211k Miles (writeup w/pics)

I still have the old one if anyone knows a way to replace bearings on these...?

Thanks everyone. I have the OEM replacement blue hub. I did not know they were serviceable ten years ago.

The non-Newtonian oil that goes into the fan clutch is going to vary in terms of viscosity choice depending on your fan clutch. I believe it goes in increments of 10, 20, 30, etc. Maybe a mud member on this forum can tell you which is right for yours, I'm not qualified.
