last year at just about this time of year the Flagstaff mountains looked similar

Was going to post in the chat thread but that thread showed up as closed.:hmm::meh:

Anyway in my wife's effort to not have me feel as bad about never getting up north she told me she read the fall colors on the rim were a bust this year. Guess they just went from green to brown. Had this happen a few years ago. One weekend just starting to turn and next weekend brown. Couple of good freezes will do this. While the rim has very few aspens compare to the peaks north if Flagstaff it has plenty of oaks that turn yellow and maples which turn red which is not very common in AZ. Hoping it's better next when I should be there.

Believe it was Phil I was talking a couple weeks back and asked about Blue Ridge Reservoir. It's still closed according the forest service website (wife checked this out as well) while working on boat ramp. That's a couple of years now. If anyone has seen the ramp when the reservoir is low it's a narrow winding path down to the water. Wonder if all the work has to do with Payson soon to be drawing water out and low water will be the norm.:bang:
