im looking for something a little ‘old school’ simple looking.....vs the more modernist Factor55 styling To fit in with my Oem 55bumper/warn winch. I think I may try to hide it on the inside of the bumper with a basic hole clearanced enough for the fairlead. Any ideas on Fairleads that are wider than 8-10” opening and might fit the bill?

The roller fairlead for the Warn 8274 winch is 12" long.

Here is an example from Summit Racing. they have several. If you are using synthetic rope then aluminum is
the way to go. Nice truck, I like your idea of simple and subtle. I inset the hawse on the rear bumper I made,
and I just tuck the rope back under the bumper on a small shackle.

We have a wider fairlead which is designed for our Blazer winch.
Actually, we won't suggest to use the fairlead wider than drum length.

Bugsnbikes I'm going to post a couple of pic of how I recessed the hawse on the inside of my bumper.
I meant to post a link to Summit racing website on previous post. That is the hawse I was referring to and I
didn't realize until tonight that it didn't paste. The hawse I used is an old steel Warn original. But its as new
so I'm not concerned about using the synthetic rope that's on the rear winch.
That is such a clean job you did. I don't know if this is something you'd consider doing it my way or not.

A couple of thoughts: As the Comeup folks mentioned, it's not a good idea to have a fairlead wider than the winch drum. It should ideally match. Also, if you go with a hawse fairlead, it should have a generous, rounded chamfer on the opening as the Comeup models shown do. And regarding hawse versus roller, it is a myth that you should not use a roller fairlead with synthetic line.
