I have an opportunity to buy a complete Fairey Overdrive system. The seller states that this is four a four speed. I know that I’ve seen FODs on three speed 40 series. What else is required to utilize this with my 40 series with its three speed? Thx.

We have the FJ55 with 3B diesel which has the standard 4 speed tranny and a 3 speed transfer case and the OEM PTO winch on it as well. The tranny/transfer is located at the same place as it was with the 2F engine. My questions are: is this worth having (or are parts even harder to find than...

These were kinda junk even when new. They werent well regarded for having a long and trouble free service life, you'd be on borrowed time with it.

It seems to me in past you were trying to fix or install a Berens Hone-ODrive….

I don’t like the design. And then having to cut down an already short rear driveshaft.

Three speed parts to do the conversion from a four are not as hard to find as four speed parts to convert to a three speed..
