Here. Now.
I was getting pretty sick of my bone-white truck...

I got the wild hair to paint it a couple of days ago, so I got off work early yesterday, got the spray cans and started prepping. I did a quick wet-sanding of the existing paint, and got it taped yesterday evening. Too windy to paint...

Got up bright and early and got to work. Two coats by 9:00am. :grinpimp:

My son and I pulled the tape off a few minutes ago... Looks pretty good, relatively few runs. Definitely not perfect, but not that bad, either.

Traditional 2-tone Pig again...

Sweet! That looks like a great rattle can paint job, but what's with the teaser pic? We gotta have more pics! What brand and color paint did you use? Nice job.

It's resting in the garage, busy morning!

PPG Nebula Green, OEM color (#44678/622), mixed by my local auto paint store. Minimal prep, like I said, I just sprayed over some of the rust holes...

More pics when I get it outside later.

Looks good. Did either of you do any wet sanding after you sprayed? I have a couple of spots of dry spray and was hoping I could wet sand it and get it to shine.

You probably could. I'd use a very fine paper, then some rubbing compound, or maybe just the compound. The paint is real thin, so you risk rubbing it off. Right now, I'm just happy not to be looking at acres of white!

I believe my trail pig is orig. paint, Nebula Green and Cygnus White- but may end up being 'rattled caned' Pollux Orange. Both are sweet color combos...

Edit: Of course this pic is fantastic and the paint is pretty much that faded!

They age nicely, don't they?

I'll be bumping mine up shortly...

:)

That looks great!

Where can i get one of the Piggly Wiggly stickers?

When spray painting how many coats of paint did you do? I used 3 coats of primer and 4-6 coats of paint. Talking to several people they thought that maybe more paint was needed. I guess I would hit it with some 180-200 grit and respray. What do all of you spray paint experts recommend?

Thanks,
Ryan.

I'm certainly no expert...

Mine was a quick-and-dirty job, though I tried to clean and prepare the surface as best I could, given the hour or two I had on friday. I did two coats, and wanted to do three, but the sunny side was getting kinda warm, so I quit at two. If I really wanted to do a nice job, I'd do what you said, but I'd use 300 or finer grit, then respray.

I was just so sick of white, and I got this hair up my ass...
