Ran a search but nothing. Has anyone tried the "mean green" starter on a 2f and do you think it was worth the $. Also, is it correct that on the f mortor and 2f mortor the starters are swapable. Thanks for your input.

I doubt that you need the mean green. Seems like more dollars
than you need to spend. A good rebuilt stocker will last you.
Also, the new FJ60 gear reduction starters seem to be popular.
As far as I know, the F and 2F starters are completely swapable.

I bought a reman Toyota Gear Reduction starter and I'm amazed at the difference. Plus, it is Toyota reliable.

I've got an aftermarket Bosch starter, that little booger is amazing. Highly recommend it. Don't know anything about mean green...

thanks for the info. Think I might go with the 60 gear reducton model.

Got a few on the shelf Kelly. Can do when we swap the t-cases.;)

a MG is no better(and maybe worse than) a OEM 81+ gear reduction starter, I have a MG(that I got for $100) on one of my 40's, works just fine, but its no improvment over the OEM GR unit.

and yes a OEM GR starter will fit cruisers at least as far back as 1964, I swaped one onto my 64 45LV, some minor wiring redo's but all of 5 mins to do.

I should have figured you'd have one Mark. Yeah, if you have a GR-starter pm me with a price. I can pick it up next time I'm at the shop.
