I'm 6'5", and have always been a little cramped in the old FJ with a bench seat. I took a serious look at the space left behind the seat with it all the way back, and there was room for improvement. With just 6 holes drilled and a little file work (not by me, by the boy. With an ASE mechanic for a son, I just point and grunt) we got 2 inches more legroom for my bench seat FJ40. Now it is much more comfy on those 52 mph pavement slogs. All he did was drill 4 new mounting holes (1st picture), 2 inches to the rear of the stock locations on the seat rail. The adjuster locking device required 2 new holes (2nd picture) as well. Picture 3 shows the improvement in legroom. Why didn't I do this sooner?
