Interesting. What would I need if I currently run OME 2.5" heavies?

Hahaha.

Mine are shipping, today, along with a few other components, and not by a freight method arranged by Shane.

A chiropracter. :D

I hear that.... Mine has heavy front, extra heavy rear!

Hope some more people start to show interest, I really would like a set. Don't really wanna pay more than 700 though.

If someone wants to set this up I'm down!

Whats a reputable suspension company/4x4 shop accross the states?

You know Sonny and Marco. Marco's always gone out of his way, but they don't have a presence here (that I know of).

MetalTech is known amongst the LC crowd, and think out of the box. I'd vouch for them from personal experience, and they are Mud frequently.

A newcomer here, but Wilson at trdparts4u.com is a stand up guy. I don't know his involvement with determining product lines, but a reputable vendor that delves into more than the normal lineup.

I asked this of AutoCraft, but not of Shane.

Why not have CSS (Coil Spring Specialties) produce the coils, per exacting specifications, in the US?

They're located in Kansas, so centralized shipping to the entire country. All they do is coils for all types of applications, so more than capable to produce, and the coils I've bought from them are in the exact same price range as what they're selling for in Australia.

Doesn't hurt to ask. But from past experience, the suspension companies in the US say it's way to complex to make. And will cost way too much to set up. Maybe in the future someone will do it? But a crate load at a time of proven and tuned flexi coils made from the best steel doesn't sound too bad either.

I'd think CSS could produce any coil, with proper specification.

Getting the price point to the $500-600 range would be crucial to the success of, for the LC crowd. Unless slow boating an entire container, don't see how that's possible to come close to.

I don't know what the shipping charges for the packages that just left AUS are yet, but it was estimated by my buddy there that after repacking the coils (arms are separated) $275-325 AUD, shipped at his cost, via Qantas. No charge for packaging or handling, though, and that's coils only. (He's no interest in taking this on as a compliment to his existing business).

Another consideration, at least from my uneducated perspective, is having corresponding shock travel criteria available, or a shock manufacture with products available for the various coils lengths, bolt on of course.

Have no clue how long the shipment will take, and I've postponed shocks until I can cycle with the tires I plan to run, order accordingly. Since the build has grown to include some type of work on just about every component of 450, it may be some time before the capabilities will be depicted, but I do plan to be very, very thorough and meticulous (thanks, :big thumb:. I was listening) in documenting.

Looking forward to the radius arms, too. Anxious to see in action. Another thread, perhaps, but hoping the result was worth the effort and expense.

$500 - $600. That will never happen. As been said they cost alot to produce. They arent just a progressive coil. They are a 3 stage progressive coil made for landcruisers (alot of r&d to get right). Shane will go to great lengths to make it as cheap as possible. The success of these coils in the LC crowd for the US won't need much encouragement once a few people start running them. Google flexi coils in aus and see for yourself. No working out coil rates or guessing. Just say how much weight you have or list accessories and say what ride/lift height you want and a few hundred $$ more for a set. Bargain

The $500-600 was based on what I paid, with no freight included. (Add 2% to convert)

My point was, adding $400 freight on top of may be too much for the vast majority, but based on my interpretation, nothing more.

If a bigger marketer wanted to become involved, surely the freight charges could be minimized by shipping in bulk and stocking various lengths/rates in the US, if not produced here.

Just my two cent coin.

I totally agree that $1000 would make you think twice. Thats the whole point of this thread. See how many people are interested. If enough interest, and enough people can get organised. Your not paying much more than we pay for them here ($50). Once youve had progressive coils, you wont EVER go back :). I was interested to see who steps up and wanted to help organise them. I left out that shane has said who ever he can send the 1 shipment to, and then they send off to the others who wanted them. He would give them $300 off for helping. If they do go to a suspension company in the US. They will charge what ever they like.

Id like to find the link though, as you guys are missing out on alot of great gear we have here in aus. What springs to mind, as most of your rigs are petrol auto's. And feed back from what your after. Is 3" drop box's, 3" flexi coils, a single side superflex arm, tuned length and valved shocks/bumpstops, sway bar disconnects. Running 33's.

That would make for awsome on road handling (daily driver) and still a serious weapon offroad.

An unsolicited suggestion for overall viability would be to accept more forms of payment than bank transfers, as that's not a common form of payment in the US and, due to recent legislation, transferring internationally is pain.

I would give them a serious consideration if the price were 600 or less, and if the deal could happen fairly soon. And if there is a 3" option for my application, which right now includes a 4.9 diesel swap (probably a couple hundred lbs) will soon include a good steel bumper/bar, and may include 2 heavy batteries in the future. I hope to get it to a drive on scale soon to get some exact weights.

$650 for 15 people.... Not that far off.

Now we just need the people. Maybe start a list (like a group buy) on the first post? I will buy a set if 14 others step up. I'm not willing to go through the hassle of wiring the money though.

Don't you guys have PayPal?

Shane said included in that $650 for 15 sets, is. Shipping to the USA on a pallet. To an address who redirects the coils to each person who has purchased them (accross the USA). So 2 lots of freight to each buyers address. He said it works out to cost. And if he loses a bit of money on this first pallet then so be it and he will adjust accordingly for the next lot. So you won't get a better deal. Just to get them out there. And trialed with feedback would be nice. ANY progressive coil would be better than the hard stuff you guys are running in most of your lifts.
