Expensive CEL code: P0510 (1 Viewer)

When Check Engine light came on, I ignored it as i thought it was the O2 sensors. Changing then was on my newbie list, so I added an item on my buying list to CDan. But then I realized the truck was too much gluttonous as normal. (get an average 8'6 MPG)

Then I went to a CEL codes reader and get P0510.

Has anybody ever got this code?

This high fuel consumption should be caused by a trottle malfunction, Shouldn't it?

P0510: Closed Throttle Position switch malfunction: Trouble Areas: open in closed throttle position switch circuit; closed throttle position switch; ECM.

Don't have the FSM right now to give you troubleshooting steps. Could be the throttle body just needs cleaning or . . . .

Nah... don't search them for me, they are posted several messages ago. You can get them searching for P0510 in this forum.

I just am afraid for the fuel consumption. told me that a throttle malfunction can cause this, because if 8'6 is a normal average consumption, I'm going to make friends on the fuel station...
