Cant make this one. Wish I could, but I have to attend a transition class that week to learn how to dress and speak civilian (Father was 31 year Navy and I'm 20). Also, a HR rep from the company I want to work at will be there, so this is my best chance of staying in NH. Have fun.

this isint in the tellico park is it?

you should have gotten something about the hotels. I found one on the way down for 82.00 a night which includes breakfast. I'll check again but I'm sure it's going to be non refundable. They offer 2 queens or a single king bed. I'll need your preference otherwise you get 2 queens.

Right now it looks like 5 or possibly 6 trucks heading down.

So we'll be having 2 suppers on the trail, is it every man for themselves or do we want to
do a Pot-Luck type meals?

what ever everyone wants to do. It's traditional to make what is refered to as Rotel which is a hot dip of sorts and you use corn chips. Me and Mike with have the fixings for a batch each night.

If you want to kind of organize something that would be great.

I look forward to joining you all on this trip.

One thing i will mention is that from campspot #1 to campspot#2 it's a pretty good ride. Not overly technical, but long. Lunch, potty breaks, and other random stops have to be kept to a manageable amount. Some times with a group one stop triggers everyone hopping out and making PB&J sandwiches :D . So i would try to figure that aspect out a little.

Hope i wasn't speaking out of turn there. Just sayin'

Here is a few from my nest....

By all means Alex feel free to offer suggestions. I'll be looking for advice on how we can best manage the days travel. Most of us are accustomed to short runs off road, but having a full day's ride to a new location without contact with civilization is a new experience.

We'll have a chance to talk more about this at our stay in Abington on Thursday.

Whos tenting it and whos sleeping in their truck?

If the # of trucks go up we may be forced to arrange our ride to allow us to camp in the balds, but if we chose to stay in the woods space can be an issue.

also if you dont have a CB then try to get a hold of a set of FSR hand held radios. We regularly use this means for communication on the trail and on the caravan to the trail and each truck should have one.

I was debating sleeping in the truck but think we are going to end up in a tent... conditions permitting. Tent is a small 4-person.

CB is on the list prior to leaving.

I got your emails Rick, we are still working out our plans as to how we are going to get to the hotel. Right now I do not think we will be joining the caravan but I will certainly let you know if that changes.

Can't wait! Those pics are a great teaser!

right now myself, nat88toy and mud eater will be tenting as far as I know. Steenh has committed to joining us with his family so I'd guess a tent there as well. Green40 is coming with a 4Runner so that might be a strong possibility for tenting as well.

I have a CB and will be installing one in Mud Eaters 80 this week. I don't know about the others.

Hey guys, looking forward to the trip. Thanks for the invite! I'll be in a tent one way or the other. Either in the 40 with my kid, or the hundy with wife, kid and dogs.
