Posted here only b/c hardcore guys tend to run rock lights and night run more than the others....my question:

In a rocklight setup would you go with a regular white light ($10 farm light)? florecent tube? or Red LED? talking with a few people and doing a little research and it seems that the eye is able to see better at night with red illumination (hence the reason why all military night light is red). your thoughts, thanx in advance.

If regular lights probably go with 6

Since any advantages you might gain from a red led as far as your "night eyes" are ruined by running your headlights, I don't think the red led's are a good idea. I've always ran the $14/pair driving lights from Autozone. Plenty bright and cheap.

Also, I wouldn't use the florescent because of size and the lack of aiming characteristics.

x2 on cheap driving lights...they also work well as reverse lights

i would go for the cheapo's too. plenty bright and easy on the wallet when you break

I use those cheep rubber housed work lights from the local truck and equipment supply house. I get the ones that have a real wide pattern.
