The truck left a big box yesterday afternoon....I spent some time taking the old 80 bumper off before cutting the box open....to find a winch bar for a freaking 05 Discovery.....

ARRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Oooops! Let us know how this will play out, will be interesting. Who'd you buy it from? Outside number on the box matches the bumper inside? Take a photo of the number on the box.

Should be an interesting fit. Let us know how it turns out. :flipoff2:

Or you could buy a Discovery for your bumper...

LOL!...:hillbilly

I'm really sorry tho. I bet you were a hot ticket....

Had a similar experience a few years ago, when I ordered an Air Locker for the front of my 80. What I got was 2 lockers..... for a Jeep.

ARB shipped the right one the next day and had FedEX pickup the others. Just a mixup in the shipping dept, I guess.

I considered buying a new Discovery to fit the bumper but they don't have a forum of members with a sense of humor like you:) My welding skills are not sufficent to make this bar fit either.

I tortured myself for several days before trying to order a Slee...only to discover they were sold out with no timreframe for availability....then ordered the ARB from a local company.

The ARB shipping mgr is a very helpful fellow and is shipping the right bar today. I get to reassemble the packaging, box it up and store it for a week or so before the right bar gets here. Maybe they'll throw in a snorkel or a roof rack for my trouble....:)

Let me know if this technique function for you ! for other from the same CO .. :D

throw in a snorkel?

be happy if you get a couple extra stickers :D

sucks to be you...but it's not a huge error...if you think about it, they probably have a ton of bumpers sitting on shelves -- one misread number and it's easy for the warehouse monkey to pick the wrong part.

I was in the ARB warehouse and HOLY CRAP thats a big place. I look up and I see a kazillion ARB locker boxes, all the same size, same markings, etc. When I was there they had almost 30 of the ARB winch style bumpers. You can imagine how much inventory they`ve got to look through to find the right one... I can see how mistakes can be made. When I was there I spoke with a few of the guys and they are super nice and easy to talk to. I`m sure they`ll find a way to make it right...

Good luck

This happened to me on the 100 Series bumper (though in my case at least I got another 100 bumper, just not the one I ordered, as they make about three different bars for the 100). Called my vendor, they worked it out with ARB, and I had a new one on the way, and they arranged for a freight company to come to my house and pick up the mistake. Fairly painless, aside from having to wait an extra week or so to put on my bumper!

Are these picking errors or labeling errors?

can you order directly from ARB? or do you have to use a vendor?

Savings? ARB is in Seattle right? Only a 16 hr drive from me..........ROAD TRIP!

ARB is in Renton, WA. They do not sell direct so you'll need to purchase through a distributor. However, they do allow local pick ups.

This type of mistake is usually a result of error on the part of the warehouse people picking the wrong part.

Our new warehouse (now doing a superb job) shipped the wrong tents 4 times in a row when we first started up with them. The cost of shipping the wrong thing half way across the country, then picking it up after it's been opened, shipping it back, then reshipping the right tent is guaranteed to eliminate any hope of making any profit at all. a real PITA.

Quality control needs to work at every level, or the business won't survive.
